How can the rate of reaction be calculated from a distance / time graph?
Maybe you are talking about reaction time, like how long it takes for someone to put the brakes on after he sees a pedestrian in front of him while driving? Suppose you test the person’s reaction time by flashing a light and telling them to put the brakes on by clicking a mouse button? You start the graph of how far a car travels from when the light flashes. The graph then shows when the mouse button is pushed by stopping the trace on the graph. From this you could work out how many seconds (or milliseconds probably) it took to push the mouse button and you could work out the distance a car might have travelled at some known speed. The computer could then add the deceleration curve for that car and thus give you the stopping distance and time.
