How come divers dont injure thier knees?

When divers hit the water, they effectively open a hole in the surface of the water for their body to slip through. Wrists take the full impact, and everything else follows along without as much trauma. And since wrists have a full range of motion, they are relatively weak joints and more prone to injuries. Divers are not prone to knee injuries because they don’t make their knees make quick, shifting motions (like soccer or basketball) and don’t do typically have repetitive motion problems (like running). I’m not sure what you are talking about when you say divers land head first (rather than hands first). I’ve watched a lot of diving. The best divers “rip” their dives — and that requires 1) landing on the hands 2) a quick arm pull to pull the body into the water (to minimize splash). Maybe that arm pull is happening so fast you don’t see it?
