Er, given that Capablanca died the year before Fishcher was born, he seems a pretty unlikely candidate for having murdered him. I don’t think Kasparov is particularly jealous of him, either. Fischer hadn’t played a public game in years. Kasparov and Fischer had both retired. If you want conspiracies, wait until Kasparov dies, and the Russian government gets the blame. They’ve already put him in jail once. They’ve officially attributed it to kidney failure, and that makes sense: he’s been in the hospital in Reykjavic for months. Reports from Reykjavik, Iceland claim that he died from kidney failure after a long illness (see link). Whether or not his illness was due to poisoning is a matter of pure speculation at this point. At least according to Fischer himself, he as the best ever, not Kasparov, Capablanka, or Spassky. I’m sure more info will become available in the following days. Chances are good that Hollywood will make a biopic about him soon too.
