In January of 1616, he wrote about his theory about the tides and argued about how it proved the earth moved. He was put on trial for having heliocentric beliefs in February of 1616. He was placed under house arrest for the rest of his life for”mocking” (arguing before religious leaders about heliocentricism) the Vatican’s firm beliefs in geocentricism in June of 1633 by Pope UrbanVIII.
