How did Georgia Tech develop the market place pay ranges for the new salary structure?
Georgia Tech is unique, in that, we are located in the heart of a major city. Georgia Tech competes for employees with other universities as well as major, fortune 500 employers. To develop the new pay structures, Georgia Tech used competitive market data, based on both of these employer groups, to establish our new ranges. In other words, we asked and answered the question of “what would they pay for this job,” and then set our new ranges based on that.
