Check in with yourself throughout the day to learn your hunger signals, so you don’t overeat. The trick is to listen to your body and assess whether you’re really hungry, or just “eating to eat.” You’ll learn to avoid getting too hungry or too full, and to go for that “just right” feeling. For help, you can track your hunger signals in the Plan Manager. If you’re overriding feelings of fullness, that depends on your reason for overriding them. If you’ve just eaten dinner and you’re satisfied physically but you’re in the mood for something sweet, then try something with a low POINTS value such as fruit or some sorbet. If, however, you’re overriding those signals because of emotions like boredom, sadness or anger, anger etc, refer to “Manage your Feelings” in the Habit Guide or “Reframing” found in the Tools for Living. You might also try talking to your family and friends about it.
