How do I apply for an extension to my programme?

Your registration for a programme of study runs for a prescribed period of time. However, in exceptional circumstances the period of your registration can be extended. In the first instance this period of extension will be for 3 months. To apply for such an extension you should discuss the matter with your Programme Director and ask them to email the Academic Registrar on registrar@canterbury.ac.uk to confirm that they support your request for a 3 month extension. The Academic Registrar will then authorise an extension to the programme if it is felt to be appropriate. The Academic Registrar may require that you produce mitigating evidence in support of your request. Further extensions will normally attract an administration fee of 100 for each subsequent 3 month extension. Please remember that if you are ill and unable to continue with your programme you may be entitled to interrupt your studies.
