How do I apply the recommended Chevron Spacing Table, Table 2C-6, when I have an Advisory speed which differs from the Curve Radius value?
Table 2C-6, Typical Spacing of Chevron Alignment signs on Horizontal Curves, is guidance. The first column for Advisory Speed is applied separately from the 2nd column for Curve Radius as the two may not correspond where superelevation is deficient. Please apply the more restrictive of the first or second column to the values in the 3rd column for chevron sign spacing and you may adjust the sign spacing up or down accordingly based upon engineering judgment, as the table is guidance.
