How Do I Assign a Footprint to a Virtual Component in Multisim?

0

Problem: In Multisim, virtual components do not automatically have a footprint associated with them. This is because virtual components are modeled theoretically rather than as a “real” device that can be purchased. Therefore, the component does not have a natural footprint. There are situations, however, in which a designer is satisfied with using virtual components in the schematic and would like to assign a footprint to it so that it can be transferred to a full PCB design. Solution: The footprint assigned to the virtual component is only valid for the symbol that is placed upon the schematic.
