I have Internet Explorer 7 and I am assuming that IE8 is the same or similar. Open up you internet connection get it on your Firefox page, then click on the tiny arrow that is beside the little house in the browsers bar, this brings down a drop down box, click on add or change home page, you will then have the option to keep that as your home page, select use this as you home page ad then click yes, the next time that you access the Internet, you will go straight onto Firefox.
