How do i create a startup disk for windows xp?
Format and fdisk are not a part of a std. start up disk. You can copy format from the winnt\system32 directory. Fdisk is no longer used from win2k up. If you want, you can get it and a down loadable boot disk from www.bootdisk.com If you want to change or add partitions, under administrative tools select manage computers, and there is another tool on this window called disk management. It’s graphical and easy to use. If your trying to wipe your drive clean and start over, and you have a xp CD, I would download one of the free disk wipe programs. Remember, you will have to reauthorize xp with Microsoft.
