Sadly there is no cure for Herpes.  But the good thing is there is medication if you are tested positive you can take when you have an outbreak.  Most insurances cover the medications.  Herpes is a very common type of Sexually Transmitted Disease. (STD)  Studies show that one 1 in five people are living with Herpes.  With how our society is there is no doubt that this percentage will increase to 1 in 4.  Herpes you can not get rid of and will have for the rest of your life.  But if you take the nessessacy precaucations will can live a normal and stress free life.  There are many people who have Herpes but would never know they even haven it beause they never had an outbreak or they didn’t know what it was and there body was able to fight the virus.  When you get stressed out the best thing to do is workout and make sure you get enough sleep.  Take medication only when needed per outbreaks (for the duration as per perscription) Do not have sex if you have an outbreak or kiss someone becasue the virus can then spread to your partner. The more you stress the often you will have an outbreak.  I know people who have only had one outbreak in their entire life because they learned ways how to keep their stress levels down and promote healthy living.  (They are now in their 50’s)

*** Look if you do have Herpes it’s not the end of the world.  Be happy you don’t have HIV or AIDS. ***

The Impact of Genital Herpes in the United States-How Big Is the Problem and How Much Does It Cost? Genital herpes, most often caused by HSV-2, is the most common ulcerative sexually transmitted disease in North America, with a seroprevalence of approximately 22% in Americans over 12 years of age. It is estimated that there are 1 million new cases of herpes infection each year; however, many of these cases are either unrecognized or misdiagnosed, allowing infected individuals to unwittingly transmit virus to their sexual partners, propagating the genital herpes epidemic. The impact of genital herpes in terms of both human suffering and dollar values is staggering. It is estimated that the direct medical costs (physician visits and pharmacy claims) of known cases of genital herpes in the United States are as high as $208 million per yearwhich is considered by most to be a gross underestimate of the actual cost.
