How do i get the BIOS Password for a Compaq Presario 2100?
I don’t know about this, I’ve read the manual of the notebook that you referring to(see source). What it says is that: “The BIOS update completely replaces the previous BIOS, so follow these directions exactly or you might damage the notebook. The BIOS update also resets the configurations in the BIOS Setup utility—except for BIOS passwords—so record these before performing the update.”(pg 89). But somehow it still mention “Removing Other Components” which including CMOS battery(pg 91). From what I know, removing the CMOS battery for a certain time can reset the password. I suggest that you took this laptop to the laptop repairer so they can inspect the laptop. If you think you are brave enough, do the disassembling of the laptop by yourself to locate the CMOS battery. The worst thing that I find out about the laptop you’ve mentioned is that: “The notebook’s BIOS IC cannot be replaced separately.
