How wonderful! I am a 5-time host mom and volunteer with Youth For Understanding (YFU). However, I live in the USA (Wyoming). When my husband and I started hosting, we contacted several agencies listed with the Council for Standards for International Educational Travel (csiet.org). YFU was the agency that was most responsive to our needs. We have hosted 4 of our 5 kids (we don’t have children of our own) with them and I recently became a volunteer with them because I believe the program so strongly. I briefly looked at the YFU-Canada site (http://www.yfu.ca/hostsfaq). I can only assume that the program is very similar to what we have here in the USA. There is contact information on the website.
