How do I hook-up a turntable to my Yamaha AV receiver that has no phono input?
Phono line level signals typically range from 2mV – 5mV. The line level signals input to the receiver will need at least 150mV. A receiver that doesn’t have a phono pre-amp will need to add in an external pre-amp to amplify the signal to normal audio levels. For information on purchasing a phono pre amp, consult a local Yamaha dealer or local electronics shop. Yamaha does not manufacture a turntable pre amp.
