• Launch AIM by going to the Start menu then Programs, AOL Instant Messenger, and select AIM. If you cannot find the program, download AIM for free. • Sign in to AOL Instant Messenger using the screen name you want to download an icon for. You cannot install a custom icon using AIM Express. • Find the icon you want to use and click on Download this icon. • Wait up to 30 seconds for AIM to find the icon. Click OK when AIM asks you “Are you sure that you wish to change your personal Buddy Icon for YOUR SCREENNAME”. • You’re done! You should now be able to use your new icon. Allow 15 minutes for all your buddies to see your new icon. • If the automatic installation of the icon did not work, please double check that AIM is running. Download AIM for reinstall it if you’re still having problems. Also, if you’re using AIM Triton, buddy icons are not supported..
