Installing PowerPanel® Plus with Windows 95/98 The easiest way is to use the Windows’ Plug and Play feature. To do this: Have your computer and UPS turned off. Connect the serial cable to the port on the UPS unit and an open serial port on the back of your computer. Turn the UPS on and start your computer. A message will display stating that new hardware has been found. Insert the Plug and Play disk into the floppy drive. Follow the on-screen instructions. If you do not see the New Hardware Found message: Check to see if your computer has more than one serial port. If it does, shut down your computer and move the cable to the other port. Restart your computer. If the New Hardware Found message is displayed , insert the Plug and Play disk into the floppy drive and follow the on-screen instructions. If you are unable to get the New Hardware Found message to come up you will need to install the software manually. To install manually: Click on Start. Click on Settings. Click on Control Pan
