Allow the baseboard heater to completely cool before attempting to remove.Remove the HeaterRemove the screws keeping the the junction box closed with a screwdriver. Baseboard heater junction boxes are usually located to the far right or left of the unit. Use a touch-style voltage meter to test the area for any voltage that could cause serious injury. Loosen the terminal screws with a screwdriver before removing any wires. Remove the wires, and use wire cutters to snip off the exposed wire parts. Locate the locknut holding the wire cable to the junction box, and remove it. Unscrew all the screws that attach the heater unit to the wall. Pull the heater unit away from the wall, and place wire connectors on each wire tip. Wrap electrical tape around all exposed wires.
