Problem: On a network whenever you run a program, you get an “Open File” warning. This is being caused by the latest update to Internet Explorer version 7 and Microsoft changes in security protocol. To get rid of this warning, do the following steps: 1. Launch Internet Explorer program. 2. Click on the “Tools” button in the upper right and then “Internet Options”. 3. Now click on the “Security” tab and select “Local Intranet” in the zone box at the top. 4. Click on the “Sites” button on the right side of window just under the box. 5. On the “Local Intranet” window, click on the “Advanced” button at the bottom. 6. In the box at the top which says “Add this website to the zone”, clear whatever value is there and enter the name of your network server in the form of “\\Server”. 7. Once the server name is entered, click on the “Add” button to the right. Your entry will be added to the “Websites” list below in the form of “file://Server”. 8. Click “Close” and “OK” as needed to exit Internet
