How do I use a clamp AC meter?

Live CircuitUse a clamp AC meter to measure the current flowing through a live circuit. In order for current to flow, turn on a light or plug an appliance into an outlet for the circuit you’re testing.AccessYou need to have access to a single alternating current (AC) conductor in the circuit. You may need to have a wall, outlet or conduit box open to have this access. You’ll be measuring a black (hot) or white (neutral) wire.ClampTurn the selector switch on the meter so it’s set to read AC current in amps. Open the clamp by pressing the clamp lever on the meter. Release the lever so the open circular part of the clamp neatly surrounds but does not pinch the insulated conductor.
