how do i use the intervalometer on my Canon Powershot s70 digital camera?”

I’ve got a Powershot myself, and from what you describe, it sounds to me like your camera’s power saving feature is set to turn off the camera after 30 seconds of no activity. I know, you’d think that the firmware should be able to differentiate between idleness as such, on the one hand, and when it is a part of a time-lapse sequence, but apparently it does not. To change this, turn on the camera, press the menu button, navigate to the middle tab, select the power saving feature, and turn off the auto power as well as the display off features. If you want to keep the auto power down feature on then you should change the setting on the display off feature. The configuration settings for this camaera can be set to display off at either 10sec, 20sec, 30sec, 1min., 2min., or 3min. So I would set it to 2 minutes so that you can use the intervalometer. That ought to do it. If not, it maybe something to do with your firmware, so you should check to make sure you have the latest version of you
