How do i wash a down feathered coat???
Wash the coat again using a mild detergent. When you place the coat in the dryer, you’ll need to also put something like a tennis shoe in the dryer as well. As the tennis shoe hits the coat, it will help break apart wet down feather clusters. If these clusters are not broken apart, they will mold and be smelly. It will take quite a while to dry. Just feeling the outside of the coat isn’t enough. You’ll need to check for any lumps of feathers. Your coat isn’t dry until all the lumps of feathers disappear.
