How do maple trees make their sap?

0

During photosynthesis in the chloroplasts of the green leaves, glucose is produced and then begins its transport down to various parts of the tree. Along the way there are parts of the phloem tissue that add a “carmal-like” flavor. So when someone cuts into the phloem tissue and channels the “sap” (glucose) into collecting containers they end up with crude maple sugar.
