• Mid day supervisors will be trained each half term, focusing on how to lead a successful playtime (including SCE Safeguarding training / in house training on including children in games / use of the friendship bench / recording incidents etc). Bus escorts will be trained on supervising pupils and reporting any incidents occurring whilst pupils are in their care. Where there are members of staff with the responsibility for both posts, they will be trained for both positions. • Responsible pupils chosen as prefects will help to monitor correct behaviour around the school. • Prefects will be interviewed for specific posts (for example, peer mediators/ play leaders) and will support mid day supervisors and teachers at playtimes/ lunchtimes. Their work will be closely monitored. • All incidents of bullying will be recorded (see procedures/ format).
