How Do People Get The Huntington Disease?
Huntington disease (HD) is a relatively common hereditary neurological condition which affects most individuals in their adulthood. It interferes with thinking, learning and cause a lot of psychological problems. The HD gene is the culprit, causing this disease. Ninety per cent of people afflicted with HD have chorea (a neurological disease that causes spasmodic movements of the facial muscles or limbs). Though the symptoms seem mild at fast, they can worsen and render a person involuntary. Other symptoms include difficulty in speech, difficulty in chewing food and involuntary changes in eye-movements. Treatment of the disease depends on its symptoms.
