How do u cycling a discus tank?

Same as any other fish. The only difference is that discus MUST have very good water conditions. They will just drop dead in average quality water that most fish can live in happily. Have a read of the page below on setting up the tank cycle. You can do a full fishless cycle, get your water parameters correct and add the Discus. But I suggest you get the tnak cycled and run it for a while with some other more hardy fish. If all is well after a couple of months and the water conditions are still prefect then get the Discus. Just dumping Discus into a new or not fully cycled tank will just kill them. Ian Note – running a tank and filter for two weeks does NOTHING to cycle the tank. You will just have 2 week old tap water and a bit of algae, but no nitrogen cycle.
