How Do You Avoid Piling On Weight Over Holidays?

0

Ahh the holidays… (Thanksgiving or Christmas, New Years Eve parties… and let’s not forget birthdays.) Following our diet and exercise routines are many times easier during the work week because we’re on a time-reduced schedule and fit eating and exercise around hectic lifestyles. When we’re off on the holidays or over the weekend, many of us tend to gain weight. To avoid this weight loss/maintenance pitfall, remember the ABCs below. A) Anti-splurge: Take splurging out of your vocabulary. Optimal health is more than just having a normal BMI (Body Mass Index). You need to be healthy mentally, as well, which includes the ability to make wise decisions concerning food. Moderation is best. Check serving sizes and stick to them. B) Beat the temptation to indulge. I didn’t say avoid indulgences, such as eating cake or having a a serving of sweet potato casserole. Beat it: Using the same rule from step one: practice moderation. Only eat 4 bites of any “treat.” You won’t be denying yourself
