How Do You Be A Movie Extra In Michigan?
Wouldn’t it be fun to be an extra in a movie? Well, if you live in Michigan, you just may get your chance to. In April, 2008, Governor Jennifer Granholm, signed into law the Film Incentive Package. This package set the stage for movies to be filmed in Michigan with a 40% tax break to film makers who film in Michigan. Just last year Clint Eastwood’s movie, “Gran Torino” was filmed in Michigan as well as Drew Barrymore’s movie, “Whip It.” Last week, George Clooney was in town filming some scenes of his new film, “Up In The Air,” at Detroit Metro Airport. And many, many more movies are planned to shoot scenes in Michigan. So, how can you land a spot as an extra in a movie?
