Of the hundred or so applications received in response to most job ads, only five or six applicants actually land interviews. That said, congratulations on making it this far! Now what? Now you need to prepare for the interview. No, I’m not talking about what to do during the interview, I’m talking about the preparation you need to do before you walk in the door for the interview. Step 1 Do some research on the company you’re applying to. Search the internet (particularly newspaper databases) to find out about long-term goals the company has. Try to determine which of the company’s initiatives are of particular importance to the company’s (and the community’s) future. Knowing this information will help you prepare for any interview questions regarding WHY you’re a great candidate for the job.
