How Do You Build A Corner Armoire?
Most of the time, using the space in corners of our homes is inconvenient and means doors slamming into walls or cramping your body into a small space to get there. However, the bedroom corners are suited to storing clothes we don’t wear and bedding that’s out of season. A corner armoire lets you use this space effectively without squishing or contorting your body. Measure the corner for your armoire to make sure the dimensions are right. Avoid going over windows or doors or trim around the edges of them. Most armoires are 2 feet deep. If you’re looking for more of a curio, as shallow as 1 foot from the center of the door to the corner works well. Angle a circular saw at 45 degrees, and use a guide to cut a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood to size. Cut cleats to size and miter the front ends. Lay the boards next to each other on the floor, and use a square to draw lines 1/2 inch from the top and bottom of the boards.
