How Do You Build A Low-Level Deck?
Low-level decks are good for entertaining guests and relaxing at the end of a long day. Whether the deck is located in the back yard or front, low-level decks can add character to any house. It is wise to research the various ways low-level decks can be designed before starting this project. Measure out from the side of the house to the desired length of the low-level deck. Place the 16 by 16 by 4-inch concrete pads every 48 inches. Repeat this for the other three measurements of the deck. Place a 2 by 8-inch board on a work table. Measure from one end and then mark the length of the first measurement found in Step 1. Cut two boards at this length. Next, cut two more for the measurement that is parallel to the house. Place the lumber on the pads in their respective places. Drill pilot holes with the 1/8-inch drill bit on two of the pieces. This must be done where the lumber pieces meet.
