• Use a mirror to examine your feet. Look for sores, bruises, wounds or discolorations. • Make sure to check your feet in good lighting. • Sit on a stool, bed or chair. Lift each foot and look at the top, side and back of each foot, and in between each toe. • Blackened Toenail Examine your nails for discoloration or thickening. Pay close attention to discolorations, bruises, cuts, sores, blisters, or areas of swelling or redness.
