American Standard acrylic jetted tubs provide a way to relax after a difficult day. However, these tubs, like all whirlpool-type tubs, require special cleaning to prevent a buildup of soap scum, mildew and bacteria. For these tubs, good cleaning is not just a matter of wiping them down with a sponge. The jets and water-circulation system can harbor harmful bacteria. These components should be cleaned to maintain a sanitary tub. Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands from cleaning products. First, clean the jets. To do this, fill a sink or bucket with hot water and powdered dish soap (about half a teaspoon). Dip a bottle brush in the warm soapy water–or pour soap directly on the brush.
