How Do You Clean Wool Slacks Without Dry Cleaning?
You don’t need to take your wool slacks to the dry cleaner every time they are dirty. Instead, wash them at home. Wool slacks require more attention than machine-washable clothing, but once you learn to care for them, you can reduce the amount you spend on dry cleaning services. Fill a basin with lukewarm water. Dissolve 2 tsp. of no-rinse wool wash in the lukewarm water. Place the wool slacks in the water and wool wash solution and let them to soak for at least five minutes. You can massage the water and wool-wash solution into the fabric, but massage gently to avoid felting the fabric. Remove the slacks from the basin and squeeze out as much of the water as possible without wringing the fabric. Lay a clean, dry towel in an area away from direct heat and sunlight. Place the damp wool slacks on the towel and allow them to dry flat.
