Communicating with the visually impaired can be challenging but with some suggested techniques, can be made easier for all involved. Describe a room layout, other people who are in the room,and what is happening when entering a room with someone who is visually impaired. This decreases the feeling of the unknown and provides information the visually impaired person cannot get on their own. Tell the person if you are leaving.
