Aside from computers, there are other electronic devices such as video game systems that you can connect together and/or to the Internet with a router. If you want to connect such a device to a router, don’t worry if you don’t also have a computer connected to the router. A router connects all electronic devices in the same way, so it makes no difference if you connect an electronic device to a router with or without a computer. Plug the Ethernet cable from the modem into the input jack in the router to connect the electronic devices to the Internet. The input jack will clearly be labeled “input” or “WAN”. When the Ethernet cable is secured within the Ethernet input jack, you will hear a small click. Connect the power cord into the router.
