How Do You Construct An English Test?
Constructing an English test can be almost as difficult as taking one, depending on how much information you want to pack into one assessment. Along with having to create a set of questions, you also need to make an answer key for grading purposes. With a set of objectives in mind, however, constructing a test can be done quickly and smoothly. Decide what type of questions you are going to use on your test. It is always good to use three or four different types of questions (e.g., multiple choice, short answer) to gauge the full spectrum of how much your students have learned. Create a point system for each type of question (e.g., multiple choice questions are worth two pts each). By establishing a point system, you can know exactly how many questions you are going to include on your test, basing it on the amount of total points possible.
