Although Microsoft Excel does not support PDF out of the box, there are several free options for converting Excel files into PDF format, although unfortunately all the solutions involve some sort of download. The universal solution is to install a PDF printer driver, which allows you to convert Excel to PDF almost as easily as printing to a printer. This solution works most of the time, but for documents that require website hyperlinks the printer solution falls short. If you have Excel 2007 then you can use the Save As PDF add-in instead. For earlier versions of Excel this add-in doesn’t work, but in that case you can still include hyperlinks by using OpenOffice.org Calc. Download and install a PDF printer driver.
