How Do You Cook Turnip Greens?
Cooking turnip greens is not an intimidating thing to do. They are easily purchased, no need to plant turnips and wait out the entire growth process. They take a minimum of supplies, yet supply us with great nutrition. Step 1 Purchase a large bundle or two of turnip greens at the market. Keep cold and crisp in the vegetable drawer until ready to use, a few days at the most to ensure quality of nutrition. Step 2 When you are ready to prepare the greens, place them into a sink of cold water and wash throughly and shake off water. Place onto a cutting board, and gather the greens into a small bundle in the left hand,or right depending on your personal hand set up. Hold and cut across the greens in several places to make them a little smaller and place the pieces into the stock pot. Step 3 Next add enough water to just almost cover the greens. They will shrink down, so you don’t need a lot of water. Sprinkle salt if desired into the water, but if you are adding bacon or salt pork in the la
