How Do You Crash A New Remote Control Plane?
This summer my friend and I decided to invest our time and money into flying remote control (RC) model airplanes. We purchased a styrofoam kit and bought a nice RC controller. This eHow is my lesson learned for all those first-timer, novice RC flyers to read prior to first launch. While it doesn’t take a novice to crash a remote control airplane, it does to crash with such success. First you need to build a brand new RC plane and gather as many bystanders as possible (optional). Have co-pilot (airplane launcher) point airplane into a less than calm wind. Note: During the summer months try to fly during the late evening, the wind tends to be less gusty. (Depending on location of course) In your nervousness, have the dual-rate switch on your transmitter (controller) set to full. Many remote control transmitters have switches to control the amount of control or movement to be applied to a control surface. In my case it is the elevators.
