How Do You Create A Bootable CD-ROM For Win2000?
A computer’s operating system is the single most important part of its configuration. If your computer does not have an operating system working properly, you will not be able to load your files or documents. Because of this, many people use a boot disc to recover their computer’s operating system when it is failing. The Windows 2000 operating system offers a simple way to create a boot disc by just using software native to the operating system. Log in to your computer and open the CD drive. Insert your Windows 2000 CD-ROM into the CD drive and close the drive. Click on the “Start” menu and click “Run.” Type “d:” into the Run menu and press “Enter.” Wait until a window pops up with the contents of your Windows 2000 CD-ROM. Click on the “Bootdisk” folder and then click on the “Makeboot.exe” application from this window. A small window will pop up asking you where you want the boot file to go. Select the “Desktop” from the choices in the drop-down menu at the top of the software window.
