How Do You Create A Paper Plate Rhythmic Shaker?
This craft is a great way to entertain children. It is art, music and rhythm all in one simple project. An enjoyable way to pass a rainy afternoon or to present as a class craft project. • Start with two ordinary paper plates. Place them face to face, for a top and a bottom. • Punch holes around the edge of plates. Use a standard hole punch. Holes should not be too far apart, roughly an inch (2.5 cm) or less. Holes should not be too close together as to weaken the edge of the plates. Place a little pencil mark to help re-align the plates. • Place a few beads or dried beans inside. Do not use objects that would be hazardous for the children. • Re-align the plates. Glue the plates together. • Decorate the outside of the plates. Draw pictures or words with markers. Play the shaker. Have the children make their own rhythms with the shaker by shaking it up and down, from side to side and round and round.
