How Do You Create Jean Harlows Pencil-Thin Eyebrows?
While the stark, thin eyebrows of old Hollywood are a thing of the past, you can’t deny the appeal. If you are trying to put together a Jean Harlow look for Halloween, you can get the same effect without shaving off your eyebrows! This technique is much too harsh for every day, but is perfect for a costume party or photo shoot. Begin with a clean, moisturized face. Brush the eyebrows so that the hairs are perfectly in place and in the same direction. Now, carefully scrape off several thin layers of the wax with a cosmetics spatula; about 1/4 inch in diameter. Warm the wax ball between your fingers for a minute or two until it becomes soft and pliable. Using your fingers, pinch off a section of the warmed wax and spread it over the brow. Add more if needed to cover the entire brow. Smooth out the edges of the wax with your fingers so the wax meets the skin without a visible edge.
