A partition is an area on a hard drive seen as a separate drive by the operating system. Deleting a partition may be necessary to perform a clean installation of an operating system or to remove all data from the hard drive before donating or selling your computer. The system program Fdisk allows you to delete partitions. Insert the bootable floppy or CD into the appropriate drive. Restart your computer.
