How Do You Delete The QCOW2 Disk Image?
QCOW2 is an image format used to store information on disks and drives. While deleting a QCOW2 image will result in the disk becoming unusable, this is sometimes necessary where the disk has been corrupted or where you want to reorganize the parameters of the disk itself. This is a standard operation that can typically be done in minutes, even if this is your first time deleting disk images. Right click on the “Start” menu and select “Explore.” Click on the drive letter of the disk containing the QCOW2 image. Click on “Tools,” open “Folder Options,” click on the “View” tab, check the box to “Show Hidden Files,” and uncheck the box to “Hide Protected Files.” This will allow you to see the disk image file even if it is otherwise hidden. Highlight the disk image file (typically the “ISO” file) and press “Delete” to remove it from the disk.
