Screen printing is a popular method for creating multiple prints of an original design. It is relatively simple to set up a screen printing operation at home, in a location that has ventilation. With a few tools and raw materials, you can print images on T-Shirts, paper or fabric. Clean the screen. Use mild soap and warm water. Rinse and let the screen dry for an hour or longer. In a dark room, coat both sides of the screen with light sensitive emulsion. Consult the emulsion’s directions for specifications. Scrape off the excess emulsion. Dry the screen overnight. If you do not have a pre-stretched screen, attach the screen fabric tightly to the frame. It should be tight enough that you could bounce a coin on the surface. If you attach the screen with a staple gun, take care that the staples do not rip the screen mesh. Transfer your design onto a transparency.
