The skeletal system is an important part of the body–without it the human body would lack form and function, and we would be unable to walk or move. The skeletal system is also important because it protects vital organs such as the heart, brain and lungs. Drawing a life-size skeleton for a school project can help students gain a better understanding of how the bones connect together, while teaching them the names of the bones as well. Since this project can be time consuming and take up a lot of space, it should be completed away from the classroom as a take-home assignment over a few weeks.
