How Do You Enable Autorun.Inf?
In Microsoft Windows operating systems, the Autorun function on CDs, DVDs and removable media is not allowed by default and must be switched on, or enabled, in order for the Autorun.inf file on the disk or device to run. Most CDs, DVDs, flash drives and other removable media contain an Autorun file that includes Windows instructions for automatically starting the disk when inserted into the computer. Music, data and video CDs and DVDs all include different information in their respective Autorun.inf files, and each type of disk must have the feature enabled in Windows. Enabling Autorun–or AutoPlay, as it is termed in Windows–is a straightforward task using the Hardware and Sound interface in the Control Panel.
