How Do You File Ibanez Edge Tremolo Knife Edges?
One of the most common items to wear out on an Ibanez Edge tremolo is the knife edge. This is especially true with the portions of the knife edge that butt up against the guitar’s tremolo pivot posts. If you use your Edge tremolo on a consistent basis, you’ll almost certainly need to repair your tremolo’s knife edge at some point. Although many musicians will opt to replace the entire bridge, it’s not necessary to replace an Edge tremolo when this happens. It’s possible to remove those divots with a little work. Remove the Edge tremolo from the body of the guitar by removing the tremolo springs located in the back of the guitar. Spring removal is accomplished by loosening the two Phillips screws that hold the spring claw in place. Once the springs are removed, the tremolo is able to be lifted out of the front of the Ibanez.
