It can be a nuisance to clean having to keep on filling your sink if you just want to wash a few items. You may be tempted to buy a hand stopper or get a plumber to fix the problem. But bathroom sink stopper problems are generally very simple to fix with just a little elbow grease. Step 1 Put the stopper back into the hole. Turn the stopper to make sure it catches onto the pivot rod. Try pulling up and down on plunger, if the stopper opens and closes the drain properly you are done.
